On 1 January 2025, the LXIX Cybersecurity Act of 2024, which transposes the NIS2 Directive into domestic law, entered into force, repealing the previous L. of 2013 and XXIII of 2023 (Cyber Science Act). The main objective of the regulation is to meet the requirements of NIS2 and to strengthen the cyber protection of state bodies and private organizations responsible for critical infrastructure. The act focuses on the secure operation of electronic systems, facilitating protection against digital threats. The new framework not only achieves legal harmonization, but also contributes to increasing the resilience of the public and private sectors against cyber attacks.
