Innovation activities in the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster

One of the most important strategic pillars of the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster (MKK) is the encouragement and support of innovation. The Cluster actively works to ensure that the latest research results are quickly and efficiently put into practice, thereby contributing to the development of the cybersecurity sector and increasing the competitiveness of the domestic economy. The MKK's innovation activities cover a wide spectrum, from the encouragement of R&D&I projects to the market utilization of university knowledge.

The main innovation directions of the Cluster:

  • Encouraging R&D&I projects: The Cluster places a high emphasis on initiating and supporting research, development and innovation (R&D&I) projects. The concept of the Zsámbéki Science Park will play an important role in this context, providing a physical and knowledge-based infrastructure for joint research and development by its members. This infrastructure will enable testing in real environments and the development of prototypes, thereby accelerating the innovation cycle.
  • Market utilization of university knowledge: MKK maintains close ties with academia, especially Óbuda University. By integrating the university innovation ecosystem, it ensures that scientific breakthroughs do not remain at the theoretical level, but become market-relevant solutions. This includes startup support, incubation programs, and the encouragement of university micro-investments.
  • Networking and industrial integration: The key to innovation is effective collaboration. The Cluster promotes technological collaboration and networking among its members, which contributes to the successful implementation of joint projects and the acceleration of knowledge transfer. The high rate of business collaborations among the Cluster members also reflects this commitment.
  • Creating marketable innovation: The MKK not only encourages research, but also supports the creation of marketable innovations that meet real needs. This includes increasing the number of registered patents and launching joint innovation projects.

Through the innovation activities of the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster, the domestic cybersecurity sector not only keeps up with global trends, but also actively shapes the digital security of the future.
