European Cybersecurity Month: joint conference organized by the Neumann Society and the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster

The European Cybersecurity Month within the framework of John Neumann Computer Science Society and the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster On October 15, 2025, Between 10:00 and 12:00 is holding a professional conference in Szeged, Albert Szent-Györgyi in the Agora, at the location of the Informatics History Exhibition.

The program At 10:00 starts Gábor Kepes (NJSZT) with a welcome speech, who will introduce the audience to the topics of the event and present the role of the Neumann Society in the IT professional community. He will also talk about how IT security is connected to the ICDL system and how it contributes to the development of digital competencies.

 

From 10:30 András Veress (Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster) gives a lecture “Don't be intimidated by corporate cybersecurity expectations – or corporate cybersecurity for beginners” In his presentation, he will present the most common cyber threats, the means of defense at the technological, organizational and human levels, and discuss the impact of regulations (e.g. GDPR, NIS2) and artificial intelligence on corporate cyber defense.

 

At 11:00 András Krnács (Safer Internet) “Children on the Internet – Safety Challenges” will address the safety of young internet users. He will discuss the dangers of the online space, technical and human limitations, and how parents and teachers can help develop conscious digital behavior.

 

From 11:30 János Márton (Falcon GT Consulting Ltd.) “One click, big damage – awareness is the best defense” In his presentation titled "The Power of Cybersecurity", he draws attention to the serious consequences that a single wrong decision can have. The presentation uses practical examples to illustrate how suspicious links and messages can be recognized, and why user awareness is essential for digital protection.

 

The conference aims to expand professional knowledge, exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation. The Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster is committed to supporting the domestic cybersecurity community and promoting the development of a culture of digital security.
