National University of Public Service
The National University of Public Service is the only higher education institution in the field of military, law enforcement, disaster management, public service, diplomatic and intelligence training in Hungary. The university is maintained by the Prime Minister's Office, and its clients are the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Due to its unique higher education position, the University is in direct contact with all the organizations of the Hungarian government involved in cyber security, which are directly involved in the training of university students and ex officio support, among others, research related to cybersecurity. The University's Cyber Security Institute organizes the educational and research activities of nearly 60 researchers and professors in the field of cybersecurity, especially information security, cybercrime, cyber warfare and cyber defense, as well as related infotechnology research. In addition, the institute represents the University in all national and international cybersecurity cooperation.
In order to strengthen the cybersecurity professional field and support new educational tasks, the university management established the independent Department of Cybersecurity on February 1, 2023. The Department is responsible for teaching cybersecurity regulations and standards, data protection law, risk management, the application of security technologies, cybersecurity strategy and leadership, and other subjects related to information security, cybersecurity, and data protection.

The Defence Innovation Research Institute (VIKI) is building a network of research-based accelerators and test centers that will be used to connect end-users in the military with the best and most effective innovators. In addition, it provides development opportunities for companies carrying out scientific research and technological developments in defense-related projects in consortia in order to develop the most effective dual-use technology solutions for the needs of the military. The best performers will receive support to participate in projects in European Union and NATO allied countries and will be presented to international military buyers. Members of the community brought together by the Defence Innovation Research Institute can exchange experiences with each other in a number of dual-use projects and gain access to VIKI's investors and mentor network in order to help their organizations develop. Members of the VIKI community can gain direct access to end users in the defense sector, gain insight into the work of test centers, and test the capabilities they develop in real-world combat exercises.
